Current opportunities for employment in Canada for the summer of 2016.

PR/Media Relations and Fundraising Assistant
Please Note: Position Filled

| Wage: $12.00/hour |  35 hour/week | 8 weeks|

Tasks and responsibilities:

Assist in writing public service announcements for radio.
Prepare briefs for media interviews. Assist in designing advertisements and mailouts.
Assist in identifying major donor prospects
Assist in prepare materials for connecting with prospects, research grants and foundation funding
Track fundraising activities.
Participate in local community outreach.
Represent EI Canada at local community events.
Contribute to the development of curriculum for Grades 4-8 to help Canadian students engage in global social justice related to discrimination (albinism & Deaf/hard of hearing), the environment (conservation agriculture) and youth empowerment (trades training for disadvantaged youth in Malawi).

The student will also work part time with the Youth Engagement Coordinator who is an experienced educator and will provide relevant mentorship for the curriculum development processes and goals.

Fields of academic study: Business studies/marketing/media studies

Office and Administrative Assistant

Tasks and Responsibilities:

This student will work as a general administrative assistant supporting EI Canada’s existing staff and volunteers.

Continued efforts to digitise all paper files and records and work towards EI Canada’s broader environmental goals.
Attending local community events and participation in local outreach.
Contribute to the development of curriculum for Grades 4-8 to help Canadian students engage in global social justice related to discrimination (albinism & Deaf/hard of hearing), the environment (conservation agriculture) and youth empowerment (trades training for disadvantaged youth).

The student will also work part time under the supervision of the Youth Engagement Coordinator who is an experienced educator and will provide relevant mentorship in the curriculum development processes and goals.

Property and Building Care Assistant

EICanada wishes to hire a student that has come to Canada as a result of the Syrian Crisis

The goal is to give this student relevant Canadian work experience in a friendly work environment.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

Assist in both outside and inside cleaning and property care tasks.
Work directly with the Youth Engagement Coordinator to assist in the development of curriculum for Grades 4-8 to help Canadian students engage in global social justice related to discrimination (albinism & Deaf/hard of hearing), the environment (conservation agriculture) and youth empowerment (trades training for disadvantaged youth).  The student will also work to create an organized and accessible photo library and create a series of greeting cards and calendars to be made available to interested donors from our EI Canada website.
