Country Director


Reporting to: International Director, Emmanuel International and the EI board of directors.
Contract Length: Preferably 5 years, minimum 3 years
Start Date: October 2010


Scope of Work

The Country Director is responsible for the overall management of the Emmanuel International personnel, partnerships, and programs in Haiti, seeking to maintain organizational health and growth.  The Country Director is also to act as the focal point for the communications and relationships between the Haiti office and the International Office, as well as the other National Affiliates and Program Countries. 


GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Personnel Management

  1. Supervise expatriate and local staff assigned to Emmanuel International
  2. Inform and participate in the timely recruitment of quality field staff
  3. Ensure orientation of new staff is adequate, with clear duties and expectations
  4. Ensure staff policies, records, and reviews are current, timely and implemented
  5. Maintain the overall health of staff – spiritual, physical, morale, learning

Partnership Management

  1. Respond to, survey, and certify invitations from potential partnerships
  2. Maintain, deepen, and expand relations with existing partners
  3. Develop and expand contacts and networks with other agencies in country

Program Management

  1. Produce and maintain the strategic plan for Emmanuel International in Haiti
  2. Facilitate the development of new programs and projects, in conjunction with the country partners and in response to needs on the field as they arise
  3. Monitor overall financial expenditures in country, including budgets, fiscal controls, records keeping, and cash flow
  4. Ensure sound budgeting and forecasting for all country programs
  5. Ensure programs are properly implemented, monitored, and evaluated

Communications

  1. Develop and maintain the technology and equipment needed for timely communications within the country and internationally
  2. Maintain regular interaction with the International Office, as well as the National Affiliates or Program Countries which are involved in Haiti
  3. Ensure timely and complete reporting as required by donors, governments, and the International Office

Fundraising

  • Develop, implement, and maintain the system necessary to inform, proposition, and acquire new donors – both in country and externally
  • Initiate, develop, and maintain relationships with contacts and networks in country for funding, cooperative, and partnership purpose


*Please note that persons who join our organization in any of our ministry positions raise their own funds in most cases. We provide training and support in personal fundraising.
